Ceratizit Group has further enhanced its support for high technology, high added value, industries in the UK with the announcement of its membership of the North West Aerospace Alliance. The NWAA is one of the largest organisations of its type representing over 750 businesses in the north west of England, ranging from blue chip OEMs to sub-contract manufacturers and their suppliers. The scale of the group provides opportunities to shape Government policy on manufacturing strategy and investment as well as working with industry and academic partners to develop new technologies.

“The Ceratizit Group’s involvement with the aerospace sector is a longstanding one, therefore accepting the invitation to join the North West Aerospace Alliance is a logical step forward. In line with other leading associations that the Ceratizit Group is a member of, we will look forward to playing an active role in developing partnerships and technical alliances with other members.” Says Tony Pennington, Managing Director.

The membership of North West Aerospace Alliance comes at an exciting time for the Ceratizit Group as it rolls out new products, such as the innovative 3D Finish series of cutters, which are ideal for aerospace applications, especially on the finish milling of airframe components. The Ceratizit Group is also active around composite machining and ongoing Group developments in this area will be of great interest to NWAA members. With increased use of composite materials in both military and commercial aircraft production Ceratizit Group companies will be at the forefront in providing technical support for its customers.

Speaking on behalf of the NWAA, Sharon McDonald, Head of Marketing & Communications adds: “We would like to give a very warm welcome to the Ceratizit Group as our latest NWAA member. We look forward to working with the Group in the future and offering a warm welcome to them as they attend our Winter Member’s Forum on 6th December.”
